Martin Knobloch, Global Application Security Strategist, Micro Focus With the increasing online focus of business and rising expectations for faster time-to-market, the pressure is on for development teams to get applications into production faster. Delivering multiple releases to production per week, or even per day, is the new norm and is driving development teams to rely increasingly on third-party products and open source libraries. In this session, Martin Knobloch will discuss these daily challenges for development teams and the opportunities that come with the increasing automation in CI/CD and the responsiveness of the DevOps culture. He’ll also answer the key question: “What does ‘shift left’ mean and how do we implement it?”
10.00	Secure Coding Game Secure Code Warriors This game will help improve your secure coding skills. The game allows you to compete against the other participants in a series of vulnerable code challenges that ask you to identify a problem, locate insecure code, and fix vulnerabilities. All challenges are based on the OWASP Top 10, and players can choose to compete in a range of software languages including C Basic, C++ Basic, Perl Dancer2, Python Django, JavaScript Node.js (Express), JavaScript Angular.io (2+) and JavaScript React
11.15	Modern approaches to application security testing Frans van Buul, Practice Lead Application Security, Micro Focus While AppSec training is great, in practical terms, it cannot be the only defensive measure against AppSec threats. You also need the capability to test applications for security. However, traditional ways of doing this aren’t very scalable and can disrupt the development process. In this presentation, we’ll gain insights from Frans van Buul as he reviews core AppSec testing techniques (SAST, SCA, DAST) and shows us how they can be integrated into CI/CD systems.
