Course Descriptions:

This three-day course about Micro focus Application Lifecycle Management (ALM) Octane teaches students how to leverage this streamlined ALM solution to bring continuous quality to lean, Agile, and DevOps-focused teams. Students learn how to manage quality information throughout the development cycle, from constructing requirements, designing and executing tests, through to monitoring defects.

The course uses lecture, text, and a series of hands-on labs to teach the course material. The hands-on labs for this course use version 15.0 of the ALM Octane software.

  • Quality Assurance Engineers
  • DevOps team members
  • Project Managers
  • Quality Assurance leads 

Course Objectives:

Upon successful completion of this course, you should be able to:

  • Summarize what ALM Octane is and where it fits in your project lifecycle
  • Differentiate ALM Octane from the traditional ALM (ALM.NET) 
  • Describe the various features and functionalities available with ALM Octane 
  • Describe how ALM Octane helps in Agile methodology by supporting velocity without compromising quality 
  • Describe how ALM Octane integrated with many tools helping to implementing DevOps and providing comprehensive end-to-end control of the lifecycle  
  • Perform administration tasks at a basic level on the ALM Octane platform  

Course Pre-Requisites / Recommended Skills:

To be successful in this course, you should have knowledge of the following:

  • Have working knowledge of Windows, websites, and browsers 
  • Understand basic testing concepts

  1. Micro Focus Partner Portal Person Legal ID / SABA Learner ID is a mandate field required during registration.
  2. Partner who completes 3 days training will receive credit in SABA Learning record.
